Elmworth Construction Ltd. is a full-service General Contractor based on the Cowichan Valley, serving residential and commercial customers across lower Vancouver Island. We are a small team focused on providing top quality work and maintaining positive customer relationships.

We are currently growing, and hiring for the following positions:
**Journeyman Carpenter**

As a tight-knit team, we depend on a strong work ethic and solid leadership from our senior staff. We expect our carpenters to be self-starters who bring a high level of skill to the job and can easily communicate with clients and teammates. We do all kinds of projects, and this is an “ON THE TOOLS POSITION.” From renos to custom and spec home builds to light commercial you’ll be exposed to a wide range of jobs which gives apprentices and labourers a great opportunity to gain valuable experience with your leadership. **Skills and duties**:
Assisting the foreman and project manager

Running small groups of labourers and apprentices

Daily assistance in managing

Tool Inventory

Material Counts related to your tasks

Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications

Perform carpentry tasks such as cutting, shaping, and installing structures

Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project completion

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience in a similar role in the construction industry
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding construction plans
- Strong carpentry skills with the ability to build and install structures

*Only applicants with a Class 5 or 7 driver’s license will be considered*
- Wage based on experience_

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
