**Full job description**

**Paradise Banquet Hall**, one of Vaughan's most sought-after Hospitality and Event Centre, is looking for a professional to be part of our exciting culinary team.

We are looking for a **FULL-TIME PREP COOK **to join our team. The shifts are Thursday to Sundays from 9am start. **YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK DURING THESE DAYS.**

**Job Summary**

Prep Cook is responsible for:

- Communicating with Head Chef prior to shift regarding daily menu needs, special functions, or events for the day
- Ensuring kitchen is ready before event start (i.e., sanitizes work area, stocks work area, prepares raw ingredients)
- Preparing food items to company standards while also accommodating guest's special requests
- Inspecting food orders to ensure proper plate presentation, portioning and recipe adherence prior to sending food out to guests

**Qualifications**

**YOU MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN A BANQUET HALL ENVIROMENT**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year kitchen experience is necessary in a Banquet Hall, Hotel/Convention Centre or Golf Course environment.
- Have a level of knife skills and be able to work safely in a kitchen environment
- Be able to work in a fast-paced kitchen area producing high quality products
- Detail orientated and a quick learner, follow direction from Head Chef and management
- Perform kitchen duties in accordance with food safety and cleanliness guidelines.
- Passion for culinary excellence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
