**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Equipment Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire equipment department at Klaassen Equipment. This role involves managing the procurement, development, maintenance, and efficient performance of all tangible resources and equipment. The Equipment Manager analyzes and interprets data to make recommendations for the equipment fleet, ensuring optimal operation and longevity. Key duties include coordinating and delegating tasks related to resource management and maintenance, promoting and fostering the company’s culture, core values, and vision in all activities.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**These tasks are an outline; other duties may also be assigned when required.**
- Working with the General Manager and Asset Manager:_
- Facilitate the procurement, development, maintenance, and effective performance of all tangible resources and equipment.
- Assess upcoming equipment and resource needs to ensure a fleet of equipment is always available to meet customer and market demands efficiently, effectively, and profitably, in line with company direction and values. This includes procurement of all maintenance related items.
- In consultation with the General Manager, handle hiring and termination of employees, ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity of all staff and equipment in a safe, ethical, and fair manner.
- Develop, maintain, and adhere to an approved yearly master budget for equipment and resource maintenance operations.
- Supervisory Responsibilities:_
- Oversee all employees in the Equipment Department, managing and mentoring them while holding each accountable for their job duties.
- Review, maintain, and execute the procedures, systems, and safety plans as outlined by Klaassen Equipment, in accordance with industry standards and legal practices.
- Identify and mitigate any potential risks and liabilities that may arise from the execution of duties and responsibilities.
- Analyze and interpret data to create recommendations on profitability, efficiency, utilization, and status of all aspects of equipment.
- Manage the dispatch, maintenance, and operational management of equipment provided to the Klaassen Group of Companies, ensuring all equipment is utilized efficiently, effectively, and profitably.
- Oversee the efficient procurement of parts and inventory management.

**CORE COMPETENCIES**:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to build and follow schedules
- Some basic accounting experience required
- Attention to detail a must
- Natural tendency for completeness and accuracy
- Be able to work under pressure when required

**ESSENTIAL SKILLS**:

- Strong computer skills
- MS Office (Word/Excel) skills required
- Advanced accounting experience an asset
- Civil Construction experience an asset
- Equipment Maintenance experience an asset
- Welding Experience and knowledge an asset.

**REQUIRED CERTIFICATES / QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Min. Grade 12 Secondary Education
- Post-secondary business-oriented Certificate/Degrees an asset
- Possess a Class 5 Driver’s license with reliable transportation
- Possess a Red Seal Certificate in the Trades.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Work overtime when required
- Required to visit Construction & Gravel Pit environments
- Working hours of 7:00am - 5:00pm
- Salary to be determined based on experience and qualifications

Pay: $100,000.00-$125,000.00 per year

**Experience**:

- Heavy Equipment Mechanics: 2 years (preferred)
