Vancouver, Canada Public Disco Society Full time

_This position is funded by the Government of Canada's Summer Jobs Program. Applicants must be under 30 to be considered. _

**Responsibilities**:
Event Coordination
- Support the executive director with various event operations and administrative tasks in preparing for and executing Public Disco's summer programming. This includes managing event timelines, budgets, and contracts, as well as coordinating with vendors and partners.
- Support with event prep, loading and supplies management in coordination with the Set Dec Lead
- Support with on-site setup and tear-down in coordination with the Set Dec Lead. This includes setting up and breaking down pop-up supplies, decor, signage, and other event infrastructure, as well as managing the cleanup and removal of all equipment and materials after each event.
- Act as a site manager at smaller event activations, managing event load in, on site management, tear down and load out.
- Support the executive director and programming manager in communicating with event partners, suppliers and entertainment.
- Evaluate event outcomes and provide feedback to the executive director to inform future planning and programming. This includes tracking attendance, collecting feedback from attendees, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Support with expense tracking and budget reporting
- Maintain detailed records, provide progress reports, and conduct post-event evaluations for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the bar lead to prepare supplies and infrastructure for each event
- Prepare pre-event documentation in coordination with the executive director to communicate event logistics, schedules and key information to the rest of the team.
- Additional event administration, planning and execution tasks depending on skills, experience and interests.

Marketing Coordination:

- Monitor social media channels, respond to comments, messages, engage with fans, partners and partners
- Keep event listings updated throughout the summer months
- Work with the marketing team to execute the summer newsletter program
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop social media strategies
- Track and report on social media performance metrics throughout the summer
- Support with the organization of files and visual assets
- Additional marketing tasks depending on skills, experience and interests

**Required Skills & Expertise**:

- Excellent organization and time management skills are essential to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively, meet deadlines, and prioritize work according to their importance and urgency.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills are crucial to interact effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
- Experience working in non-profit organizations, events, cultural productions, and public spaces is an asset, but not mandatory for the role. Prior exposure to these fields can provide valuable insights and understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in these sectors.
- Effective communication skills and customer service experience are valuable assets for the social media component of this work.
- Experience in social media management is an asset but not required.
- Experience communicating with others, problem solving and working in customer service would be an asset. Prior experience in social media management is beneficial but not mandatory.
- A background in customer service, coupled with strong communication and problem-solving skills, would be an asset.

**This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to creating memorable public music events in Vancouver this summer. The position requires a number of evenings and weekends throughout the summer, often in busy and high paced working environments.** **Work will occur in a mix of in office, remote and on site.**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 2.5 months

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
