Conveyor Belt Technician

Install conveyor belts;
- Remove the existing belt and wind it onto a motorized winder;
- Make all necessary adjustments for new belt installation (counterweights, pulley adjustments, etc.);
- Carry out vulcanization (hot and cold) of belt splices (on site and in the workshop);
- Perform all other related work, such as pulley coating, sheet rubber work, modifications to conveyor chutes, sealing systems, bucket and chain belt manufacture, etc;
- Inspect conveyors at customer sites and report to immediate supervisor;
- Make sure to have and use all the equipment required to carry out work on site and in the workshop;
- Participate in and complete in-house and external training courses, including equipment (forklift, overhead crane), heavy vehicle driving, vulcanization techniques and conveyor accessory installation;
- Take charge of apprentice-technicians who assist them, and help train them in conveyor belt installation and vulcanization;
- Participate in the continuous improvement of the company's productivity, equipment preventive maintenance and product quality;
- Participate in the improvement of equipment and tools required for work (winches, reels, etc.);
- Comply with safety rules and standards in force at the customer's premises and in the workshop;
- Take responsibility for company-supplied service trucks and ensure their proper maintenance;
- Ensure that the service truck inventory is adequate and that it balances;
- Fill out the dispatch slip with the hours worked and have them approved by the customer, and submit the slip to his/her immediate supervisor the next day at the latest, along with all related documents (receipts for meals, lodging, etc.) or indicate expenses to come or without receipts, as the case may be;
- Include all materials used for the work on the work order;
- Maintain regular contact with immediate supervisor regarding work progress and any anomalies or technical problems encountered;
- Clean and maintain a clean work area on customer premises or in the workshop; and,
- Perform any other tasks required by the immediate superior to ensure production.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
