**Role Responsibilities**:
This role is intended to coordinate and resolve complaints into the driver training and testing system through investigations into actual or suspected unlawful and non-compliant conduct. Investigations are completed in a timely, consistent, thorough, and unbiased manner, in compliance with appropriate legislation and policy.

Records pertaining to complaints and investigations are effectively and appropriately managed according to legislation, policy, and procedures. Information provided to stakeholders, the court and ministry leadership in relation to disciplinary action and administrative hearing processes is professional and accurate.

The position actively champions a continuous improvement environment, through the identification of program deficiencies, and development of recommendations for improvements to the program or investigative efforts.

**Qualifications**:
**Requirements**:

- University degree in a related field (criminology, criminal justice, public administration, accountancy, economics) or equivalencies and a minimum of two years experience in investigations. Prosecution experience or investigation experience in a regulatory environment is an asset, as well as experience in the driver training and testing industry.

University graduation in a related field plus two years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalency on the basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

**Assets**:

- Ability to be appointed as a Peace Officer under the Peace Officer Act.
- Holding a commercial licence, a driver examiner licence, or driving instructor licence is considered an asset (new hires must be at least eligible).
- Working knowledge of all department traffic safety legislation, investigation techniques and a working knowledge of the variety of enforcement tools applicable in an administrative and regulatory environment.
- Knowledge of other related provincial and federal statutes that affect investigations in the driver training and testing system, such as the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Criminal Code, the Traffic Safety Act, Driver Training and Driver Examination Regulation, and the Provincial Offences Procedures Act.
- Experience with surveillance activities.
- Individuals require effective listening skills and ability to provide appropriate verbal, non-verbal and written communications, adaptability to change, problem solving and judgment to assess options and implications in order to identify a solution appropriate to workload requirement. Conflict resolution, tact and organizational skills are required to attend to the sensitivity and diversity of issues addressed by this position.
