We are seeking a Clinic Manager who is highly organized, able to communicate calmly and effectively, and has experience making informed, strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment. The ability to lead by example, multi-task, and be proactive and adaptable is a must in our dynamic health centre. You will have excellent administrative and interpersonal skills, an understanding of employee relationships and conflict navigation, experience in clinic management, and the desire to work with a team of passionate, multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.

**Job Summary**:
The **_Clinic Manager (0.8 FTE)_**, supported by Kilala Lelum’s Leads, Managers, and Administrative positions, will serve as first point of contact for the MOA team and anyone seeking information about the Primary Care clinic. The Clinic Manager will work closely with the Primary Care team to obtain a thorough understanding of the clinic and its relationship to other programs and the rest of the organization.

We are seeking an individual with an interest in grounding our organization, leaders, and practices within an Indigenous framework, as well as principles of anti-racism, decolonization, diversity, and inclusion. The Clinic Manager will work collaboratively with healthcare providers and the leadership team to ensure the smooth running of the Primary Care clinic.

**Responsibilities**:

- Hiring, training, and supervising Medical Office Assistants (MOAs) and reception staff.
- Working with the MOA Coordinator to complete scheduling and approve hours and time off.
- In conjunction with the Primary Care Co-Leads, supporting MOA/reception staff by holding regular meetings, determining best practices, and liaising with other staff on MOAs’ behalf as needed.
- Troubleshooting clinic-related issues that arise; supporting the improvement of clinic workflow and interdisciplinary communication; liaising with the Facilities Coordinator as needed.
- Organizing and scheduling referrals and the clinic waitlist.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Completion of Medical Office Assistant/Administrator course or a combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience working as an MOA in a medical clinic and/or experience managing a medical clinic.
- Experience with OSCAR EMR is vital; knowledge of medical billing is an asset.
- Exceptional leadership and time, task, and resource management skills.
- Experience working within a large, complex facility that serves the needs of diverse, multifaceted programs simultaneously.
- Experience managing a diverse team in a busy, high-stress environment.
- Ability to deal effectively with conflict, knowledge of de-escalation techniques, and experience with non-violent crisis intervention.
- Experience in Primary Care or community settings that serve Indigenous community members and/or communities with multiple barriers to health and wellness equity, preferably in the DTES.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Flexible, team-oriented, and committed to respectful, collaborative problem-solving with team members.
- Demonstrated commitment to culturally-safe, trauma-informed, member-centered, harm reduction and recovery-oriented practices.
- Experience and knowledge of Indigenous peoples and Indigenous culture would be extremely beneficial. Completion of a cultural competency course or willingness to participate required.

**Working Conditions**:

- Working schedule is 8 hours/day, 32 hours/week during the Primary Care clinic’s operating hours (9am-5pm).
- Work will be completed onsite at the clinic at 626 Powell Street with the potential for some offsite work as necessary/appropriate.

**Supervision Provided**:
This position is supervised by the Primary Care Co-Leads and works closely with the HR and Admin Lead, the Executive Director, and other Kilala Lelum Managers.

**Additional Information**:

- Anticipated start date May 2024.
- Hourly salary starts at $38.38/hour with scheduled annual raises and inflationary adjustment as per the Kilala Lelum wage grid and compensation policies.
- Schedule of work will be agreed upon with the Primary Care team to meet the requirements of 0.8 FTE (32 hours/week).
