**About the position**

Reporting to the Executive Director, Facilities and Operations, the Project Manager, will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the completion of the School’s Master Plan. You will also work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and the Head of School.

Your main responsibilities will be:

- Working with the client in selecting a design team after proposing, soliciting and reviewing proposals received from qualified consultants.
- Preparation of multiple cost proformas, timing schedules and preliminary sketches. This may include multiple meetings with key stakeholders and several iterations of these preliminary documents until a final budget, schedule and preliminary design are approved.
- Overseeing the completion of the permit and construction drawings to align with the approved preliminary design, the budgetary constraints and to the satisfaction of both the municipal authorities and building users.
- Coordinating municipal approval of the project with or without outside planning consultants to achieve approval of the project by governing authorities that might require some or all elements follows:

- Site plan agreement
- Building permits
- Zoning amendments, etc.
- Tendering, negotiation and selection of contractors and trades.
- Preparation for signature of appropriate contracts.
- Administration of day-to-day issues that arise during construction.
- Monitoring and reporting on completion of the project with regard to time and budget.
- Working closely with the CFO office to review budgets, purchase orders and vendor performance
- Coordination of construction close-out including the turnover of the substantially completed space, preparation of deficiency lists and delivery of all documentation (warranties, manuals, contact info, etc.) to owner and property managers.
- Ensuring the publication of the projects’ substantial completion is in accordance with appropriate lien legislation and oversight of the lien holdback release.
- Administration of the completion of any deficiencies and the reduction and clearance of all securities held by governing authorities against the development.
- Other duties as assigned related to capital projects

**Who we are looking for**
- A three years’ diploma/degree from an accredited post-secondary institution with major studies in Construction, Engineering with a certificate in Project Management or similar
- Minimum 4 years of related project coordination, project management experience in construction industry of projects worth $40-$60M
- Must have experience with construction project management, scoping, and scheduling.
- Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications
- Highly organized and ability to prioritize, allocate time effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight time constraints
- Self motivated with the ability to work effectively independently or with a team
- Proven experience in working with a multidisciplinary team and trades as required
- High attention to detail and consistent high level of accuracy
- Superior communication skills
- Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Known as a team player, work well within a collaborative environment including group decision making processes
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Knowledge of MS Project is an asset
- French is an asset
