Reporting to the Bentway’s Design Manager and the Senior Manager of Planning & Design, the Urban Design Assistant will play a supporting role in our organization's mission by contributing their skills and creativity to a variety of projects. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or emerging professional passionate about urban design, art, and community development.

This role will work standard business hours, with (optional) evenings and weekends to support Bentway events/programming. This role will be required to split their time between The Bentway’s office (55 Fort York Blvd) and work-from-home (a laptop will be provided).

**key responsibilities**
- **Graphic Design**: You will be responsible for creating visually compelling materials, including maps, 2D and 3D drawings, and other graphics to support our urban design projects. Your designs will help communicate and engage with the public, stakeholders, and with contracted design teams.
- **Project Management Support**: You will work closely with our project managers to assist in the coordination and execution of large-scale urban projects. This may involve conducting research, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring project timelines and deliverables are met.
- **Administrative Tasks**: You will assist with administrative duties essential to project coordination and communication. This includes taking minutes during meetings, organizing documents, and preparing presentations to effectively convey project updates and proposals.
- **Additional Duties as Assigned**

**qualifications**
- Demonstrated educational and/or practical experience in Urban Design, Architecture, Graphic Design, or related field(s)
- Professional degree considered an asset, but is not mandatory
- Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team under time constraints and to meet deadlines.
- Experience with computer programs such as MS Office, excel and powerpoint
- Passion for urban design, community engagement, and arts & culture.
