InnoTech Alberta is seeking a Sample Receptionist to work with our Chemical Testing Team. This job is based in Edmonton, Alberta.

Reporting to the Specification and Fuel Services Supervisor, the responsibilities of this role include, but not limited to:
Log incoming samples, client and analysis information into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Confirm receipt and status of samples with clients.
Ensure samples are adequate for required analysis and document any contamination.
Catalogue, store and distribute to appropriate person/laboratory for analysis.
Maintain sample inventory and disposal records.
Liaise with transport companies regarding incoming and outgoing samples.
Prepare samples for general and specialized analysis; may include pouring off, filtering and/or preserving the sample when necessary.
Dispose of sample post analysis.
Maintain lab organization and cleanliness (general housekeeping).
Handle, store and dispose of chemical and waste materials.
Assist in conducting hazard assessments, safety inspections, and watching for safety hazards.
Assist in generating safe work procedures, responding to and implementing audit safety items and changes to quality audit items.

**Qualifications**:
High School Diploma, Post-Secondary Diploma in Chemical Technology or related field preferred
Demonstrated ability to use equipment related to the job
Ability to communicate effectively
Attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and within tight timelines
Ability to take initiative and execute assigned tasks in a timely manner
Strong verbal, written, listening and interpersonal skills
Ability to lift up to 10 kg
Strong collaboration skills and demonstrated initiative
Ability to work in a high-performance team environment
Adaptable and flexible to fast paced and ever-changing environment
Computer knowledge including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
Critical thinking ability
Experience in ISO-certified chemical analysis environment is an asset
