Kingston, Canada Martha's Table Community Program Full time

Martha's Table Community Program is a crucial part of the social welfare network in the heart of the City of Kingston, ON. We provide dine in service Monday to Friday serving breakfast and lunch, takeout meals and a meal delivery program during lunch hours, 7 days a week, to those in need.

We are currently seeking an experienced Custodian/Head of Maintenance to join our team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Custodial tasks, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping and sanitizing surfaces daily.
- Upkeep of restrooms and public areas
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks, including small renovations, cleaning, and sanitizing, to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment.
- Communicate effectively with the team and prioritize tasks to manage time efficiently.
- Work independently and take responsibility for building security and daily closing procedures.
- Uphold the highest standards of Workplace Health & Safety, ensuring compliance with regulations and protocols.
- Ability to lift approximately 40 lbs/18 kg as needed for maintenance tasks.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and promptly address any issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report to the Operations Manager
- Drive the company vehicles for necessary errands and maintenance-related tasks.
- Upkeep of company vehicles, including scheduling maintenance, cleaning and maintaining the fuel etc.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience with general maintenance and repair, renovations, cleaning, and sanitizing.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and ensure building security and closing procedures are followed.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of Workplace Health & Safety.
- Ability to lift approximately 40 lbs/18 kg for maintenance tasks.
- Acceptable Police Criminal Records and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Evidence of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
- Clean driving license for the use of the company vehicle.

**Benefits**:

- Full-time, permanent position, with benefits available after the successful completion of a 3-month probation period.
- Hours/days: 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid break and a 10-minute paid break (37.5 hours per week).
- Wage range: $19 - $21 per hour.
- Limited free staff parking available on a first-come, first-served basis.
