**What you’ll do**:
- We are seeking a dynamic experienced fundraising professional who is inspired by our cause to lead BCCHF’s Vancouver Island market. Reporting to the Director, Partnerships & Provincial Engagement, this position is responsible for a range of fundraising activities on Vancouver Island, including annual and major giving and community fundraising initiatives, such as Festival of Trees provincially. This position also oversees the strategy and management for our next generation of philanthropists program, Innovators.
- More specifically, you will be responsible for:
- Actively managing and growing a portfolio of donors and prospective donors; planning and participating in the implementation of individual strategies.
- Working collaboratively with foundation colleagues to coordinate strategies with assigned prospects and providing recommendations on tailored and personalized proposals.
- Assessing opportunities for growth within the Vancouver Island marketing and developing strategies to achieve this growth.
- Managing program activities and initiatives associated with the Vancouver Island market, such as community fundraising initiatives and the provincial Festival of Trees program.
- Managing the strategy and development of our Innovators program, our program for the next generations of philanthropists.
- Monitoring progressing and performance of programs to ensure they are achieving their objectives and working with the team to develop strategies to support any variances that may be developing.
- Maintaining and properly recording information about prospects and donors utilizing Raiser’s Edge NXT.
- Acting as the Foundation’s spokesperson on Vancouver Island with community stakeholders and local media; monitoring and informing Foundation leadership of any local concerns or opportunities that may affect the foundation and the hospital’s reputation on Vancouver Island.
- Mentoring and coaching Vancouver Island staff (currently one team member); providing strategic direction and guidance to support their work and professional development.
**What you bring**:
- A Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Science, Arts, or Business Administration or Associate Certificate in Fundraising
- Minimum five years of directly related fundraising experience, focusing on major gifts and fundraising programs (including events, community and annual programs)
- A demonstrated ability to identify and implement major gift planning and solicitation strategies in support of funding priorities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and professional presence necessary to interact with donors, senior volunteers, senior hospital staff and other stakeholders.
- Resourceful, entrepreneurial, independent, while remaining collaborative in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and with discretion.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, business acumen, strategic aptitude and sound judgement.
- Inspiring story-telling skills, both written and oral
- Raiser’s Edge NXT or other database experience is an asset.

- Valid class 5 driver’s license and access to reliable transportation

- The hiring range for this position is between $82,600 and $92,340; once hired, you will be eligible for annual salary increases based on performance.
