Mechanical Systems Remanufacturing Inc. (MSR) is a dedicated AAR certified overhaul shop that has been serving the North American rail industry since 1987. MSR specializes in the refurbishment and repair of railroad equipment, including couplers, dampers, snubbers, disc brake calipers, diaphragms, handbrakes, door motors, and other ad hoc needs in the rail industry. In addition, MSR is a key supplier of manufactured tie plates, brake heads, carrier beams, spring assemblies, and custom fabrication for transit agencies and railroads across North America. The company is located in Mississauga, ON.

**Job Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Quality Management**
- _**Internal Audits and Compliance**_: Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to industry standards and company policies. Prepare for and manage annual compliance audits.
- _**Inbound Component Quality Inspections**_: Inspect incoming materials and components to ensure they meet specified quality standards. Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues.
- _**Outbound Quality Inspections**_: Oversee final product inspections to ensure all items meet quality standards before shipment. Address and rectify any defects or non-conformities.
- _**Maintain Quality Management System**_: Ensure the integrity and effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) by developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Regularly review and update the QMS documentation, conduct training for staff on quality protocols, and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives. Foster a culture of quality throughout the organization to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality products and services.

**2. Technical Product Development**
- _**Engineering Drawings and CAD**_: Create detailed engineering drawings and 3D models using CAD software. Translate design concepts into actionable blueprints for production.
- _**Fabrication Support**_: Provide technical support during the fabrication process, ensuring designs are accurately translated into physical products.

**3. Project Management**
- _**Project Planning**_: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, and resource allocation. Ensure projects are aligned with strategic goals.
- _**Execution and Monitoring**_: Oversee the execution of projects, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to timelines. Identify and mitigate risks.
- _**Stakeholder Communication**_: Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project status, challenges, and successes.
- _**Continuous Improvement**_: Implement and promote best practices in project management. Seek opportunities for process improvements and innovation.

**Qualifications**:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or a related field.
- **Experience**_: Minimum of 5 years in a quality management role within a manufacturing environment. Experience with product development and project management is highly desirable.
- **Technical Skills**_: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MicroStation) and 3D modeling. Strong understanding of quality standards and methodologies (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma).
- _**Project Management**_: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. PMP or similar certification is a plus.
- _**Analytical Skills**_: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable insights.
- _**Communication**_: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- _**Attention to Detail**_: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
