Estimator - Rebar

Kit Steel, a growing rebar fabricator in the Niagara region of Ontario is looking for an _**experienced**_ rebar Estimator to join our team

At Kit Steel, we cut, bend and fabricate rebar for the construction, pre-cast and retail markets. As an estimator, you will complete rebar take-offs from structural and construction drawings. You will be provided access to the latest cloud based rebar estimating software from ASA to compile estimated weights for rebar projects. Our brand new, 15,000 square foot facility + modern office with fibre optic internet connection is the ideal location to continue your career in the exciting field of construction estimating.

Note **o*_**nly applicants with work experience doing rebar takeoffs for the Canadian construction market should apply. *_ You will be asked to provide examples of rebar takeoffs with corresponding drawings.

**Responsibilities**
- Performing material take-offs using ASA estimating software
- Reviewing structural and architectural drawings and specifications and preparing material take-offs
- Assisting in acquiring and coordinating information as necessary to develop an accurate quotation
- Recommending and explaining estimates to customers
- Handling drawings, sketches, addendums, specifications and preparing estimates on a regular basis
- Communicating decisions with clients (both internal and external)
- Assisting Project Mangers with change orders
- Additional duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Construction Engineering Technology (CET) diploma, or equivalent
- 1+ years experience as a rebar estimator for the Canadian Construction market
- ASA Rebar Software experience
- Expert with Microsoft Office + Outlook
- Ability to assume responsibility and communicate effectively with others and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Desire to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, customer-focused environment
- High attention to detail
- Curious personality, desire to learn, adaptable and not afraid to ask questions

Pay: From $85,000.00 per year
