JANA’s Innovation Manager, under the direction of the VP Product, is a single-threaded leader who combines a passion for people and our culture with a true understanding of and value for our core risk modelling technology and approaches. They are responsible for recruitment & hiring, performance management, training, leadership & development, succession planning, recognition, etc. for those in their team. They must ensure we have a pool of available resources, with the knowledge & skills to support the development and maintenance of JANAs risk models.

Working closely with JANA’s Principals and Whole Product Managers, JANA’s Innovation Manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of all JANA Risk models. JANA’s Innovation Manager leads a team of integrity analysts and engineers to cover technical design, standards, and architecture for the model component of JANAs Whole Product Offerings. JANA’s Innovation Manager has proven leadership abilities in a similar environment, including experience in a range of development platforms, management of on-staff and third-party contractors.

**Responsibilities**:

- In alignment with JANA’s Sales Forecast and Product Roadmaps, forecasts both immediate and long-term workloads, managing Innovation resource levels accordingly
- Manages competing demands on the innovation team from delivery and development initiatives to maintain focus on core strategic initiatives
- Hires, manages, and develops JANA’s Team of risk modelling experts
- Establishes and maintains processes and benchmarks to measure progress and success
- Ensures the innovation team is up to date on the latest industry regulations and risk modelling best practices to inform the model development initiatives.
- Establishes individual goals for direct reports and ensures appropriate assessments of goals, performance and development on a regular basis
- Conducts monthly 1-1s and quaterly and year-end reviews for direct reports
- Supports and drives People functions including recruiting, retention, onboarding and training
- Works with JANAs Principal to support the team in becoming SMEs in critical technical areas
- Grows a strong team by fostering working relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment
- Works with the Whole Product Managers and Platform Manager to understand the model development needs and how they align with JANAs Whole Product Offerings.
- Creates and maintains a culture of exceptional client care, team synergy, learning and growth
- Leads by example and inspires the JANA team in a positive, high-performance way, demonstrating passion for our Culture, our People, and our Mission

Required Skills & Experience
- Undergraduate degree in a STEM field, preferable in Engineering
- 5+ years in progressive people management roles
- Thorough understanding of project management techniques and methods
- Ability to generate innovative, out-of-the-box approaches and improved solutions
- Coordinates and organizes resources and people in efficient and effective ways to accomplish larger strategies and goals
