**What’s Ninja?**

Ninja is short for ninja obstacle course racing. It is similar to what you see on the show American Ninja Warrior. If you haven’t trained in ninja before, don’t worry We can teach you If you bring an athletic background we have full confidence you can lead kids through their ninja experience.

**What Will You Be Doing?**

Fitset Ninja runs school programming including School Field Trips and Mobile Obstacle Courses for students in the Calgary-area. School Field Trips are typically 90 minutes long and occur at our facility. Mobile Obstacle Courses are full day events that take place at schools.

We also run camps during school breaks, including PD Days. Camps are for kids ages 5-12 years old. Camp coaches are responsible for delivering fun, inclusive, engaging programming for campers that develops their skills and gets them excited to continue their development in the sport of ninja.

**Roles & Responsibilities**

**School Programming Coach**
- Setup and take-down of our mobile obstacle course equipment in school gymnasiums or fields OR getting the facility ready for a school field trip
- Facilitate engaging obstacle course programming for students
- Provide support and encouragement to students throughout the event
- Build awareness of Fitset Ninja and its various programs amongst students and staff
- Ensure the safe use of our equipment by participants
- Provide clear instruction to students on how to use the equipment
- Ensure that students are having fun
- Answer staff and student questions professionally
- Get students excited about the sport of ninja
- Demonstrate the Fitset Ninja Mission and Values

**Camp Coach**
- Ensure accurate check-in and check-out of campers, including the completion of waivers
- Implement camp activity plans with support, supervision and training from the camp coordinator
- Provide support and encouragement to campers on a daily basis
- Mediate any conflicts that may arise between campers in your group
- Ensure that all campers in your group are engaged, regardless of fitness level or prior ninja experience
- Report any notable concerns or incidents to the camp coordinator
- Communicate facility rules, safety protocols and the daily agenda to campers in a large group format
- Address parent concerns effectively and in a professional manner
- Be a positive role model for campers and always lead by example
- Ensure that campers are having fun

**Qualifications**
- Prior experience working with children & youth
- Athletic experience
- Valid Standard First Aid / CPR-C required within three months of hire date
- Completed and cleared Police Record check with Vulnerable Sector Search completed prior to start date
- Completion of the Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders Certificate within one month of hire date
