**Role**:As the Swim & Lifesaving Club Head Coach and part of the Aquatic Programs team, your goal will be to provide support and leadership on the deck to ensure the coaching team operates in an efficient and professional manner. You will be responsible for providing a safe and high-quality learning environment for club participants as well as providing up to date information to participants and the public.

**Reports to**:Manager of Aquatic Programming & Operations

**What You’ll Do**:

- Lead group training sessions for the Sea Dragons Swim & Lifesaving Club at least four times a week which will include focus on timed swims, starts, turns, and endurance, and lifesaving sport
- Uphold Swim & Lifesaving club program content to meet the goals and objectives of MNP Community & Sport Centre’s vision
- Provide one-on-one technical expertise, feedback and support to participants and coaches, focusing on all four strokes and lifesaving sport events
- 5 hours per week of additional administrative hours to organize the program, work-outs, club networking, and meets
- Provide a fun, encouraging and safe environment for kids to swim in a community club
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with coaches, supervisors and participants/parents
- Willingness to integrate into the team, openness to learn from other team members
- Willingness to pursue higher levels of certification or technical skills as required
- Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times
- Provide progress reports to the Aquatic Programs & Operations Manager quarterly.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

**What You’ll Need**:

- A strong work ethic and initiative relating to continuous improvement
- Lifesaving Society Swim and Lifesaving Instructor Certification (current) required
- CPR C (recertified within one year) and Standard First Aid (recertified within 2 years) required
- Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Certification (current) required
- National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Community Coach required
- National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Level 1 or higher is an asset
- Lifesaving Sport Coach level 1 required
- Previous work experience in a supervisory role of a team of at least 5 members is an asset
- 3 years’ experience coaching children / youth
- Demonstrated leadership capacity with a minimum of 1 year experience in a leadership role
- Strong public relations, teamwork and excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
