**Examples of tasks**:

- In accordance with accepted practices, carry out duties in cultivation, maintenance and propagation of various plant groups;
- Create borders, flower beds, mosaics, planters and other types of floral decoration;

**Job requirements**:
The applicant must hold a college certificate relevant to the position from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Education, or a diploma in horticulture issued by the Montreal Botanical Garden, or other acceptable relevant training. She or he must have several years of relevant experience.

**The applicant must have a good knowledge of**:

- horticulture;
- horticultural equipment and tools.

**She or he must also be knowledgeable in the following areas**:

- spoken French and English, and written French;
- modern techniques and methods in horticulture;
- insects and other destructive agents, as well as the main plant diseases and their symptoms;
- phytosanitary products and fertilizers, directions for their use, and their toxicity levels;
- applicable safety measures.

**She or he must also possess the skills required to**:

- handle gardening tools;
- correctly and effectively carry out all necessary horticultural operations.
