Join a growing team, dedicated to revitalizing First Nations arts, languages, cultures and heritage in British Columbia. The First Peoples’ Cultural Council (FPCC) is looking to fill a **PROGRAM ASSOCIATE **position to support the success and impact of our programs.
The Language Program Associate supports the Language Program Coordinator on all language grant programs and related activities, contributing to the effective programming and community support needed to ensure that the FPCC meets its mandate with respect to the revitalization of the First Nations languages of B.C.

**What You Will Do**:
- **Language Program Support**_
- Support the Language Program Coordinator in the planning, coordination and delivery of the relevant Language Program(s), including necessary promotion, analysis and reporting.
- Work to improve administrative tools and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the language programs.
- Prepare reports as required by funding contract requirements, such as project reports and financial reports.
- Maintain the financial records for Language Program grants.
- Support the management and maintenance of a database of current and relevant program and assessment information; updates the grants management database and related files daily, completing data entry where needed.
- **Community Partner Relations**_
- Review applicant proposals, provides feedback to allow applicants to problem solve, plan and prioritize their work.
- Assist in the planning and coordination of program meetings, Peer Review Committee meetings, events, and workshops as required.
- Coordinate and assist with the delivery of training workshops and other events as required, including event planning, venue coordination, delegate travel, etc.
- Conduct project monitoring site visits to funded projects as required.
- Travel to conferences, training workshops, meetings and other events as required to represent the FPCC and to share about the Language Programs.
**What You Will Bring**:
At least 3 years’ experience in program support and project management along with a bachelor’s degree in First Nations Studies, or business administration, or a closely related field, or an acceptable combination of equivalent education, training, or experience in related field.
**Skills and Abilities That Would Help You Succeed**:
- Knowledge of BC First Nations languages/communities and a commitment to Indigenous language revitalization.
- Good understanding of, and experience with, community development in the First Nations context in British Columbia.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong file management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated tact and judgment in interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues, inquiries and complaints.
- Detail oriented and able to work with exceptional volume of data.
- Familiar with the MS Office Suite including Word, Excel*, Power Point and Outlook (*Exceptional level of data base understanding)
**Working Conditions**
- Most work is done in a general office environment.
- Regular travel to meetings throughout B.C. is required.
- Travel to attend meetings may be required
- May be required to work evenings and weekends.
The salary range for this position is **$55,198 - $57,146 **based on experience and qualifications. The standard work week at FPCC is **35 hours**.
