Parts Purchasing Supervisor

**PARTS PURCHASING SUPERVISOR**

**Responsibilities**:
- Oversees ordering of parts from assigned vendors for all Maxim locations, expedites parts including following up on stock orders and back-orders
- Reviews lists of discrepancies provided by Inventory Analyst; maintains and updates order points, price numbers and price changes in the system.
- Investigates any price changes and negotiates special Maxim pricing for future purchases on prices that have increased.
- Supervises staff following Maxim’s Leadership principles. Works to hire the right staff and retain them, ensures staff have the correct skills, manages performance, and creates a rewarding environment.
- Quotes, purchases, and sells tailgates for trucks and trailers to internal and external customers.
- Participates with Parts team to reduce obsolete inventory, low inventory and suggest methods to improve earns/turns that are below performance standard. Also works to streamline processes to improve customer satisfaction and reduce costs.
- Annually ensures United States - Mexico - Canada Agreement (USMCA) is current for all US vendors. Maintains and updates Central Purchasing Forms when using new vendors or existing vendors change information.
**Qualifications**:
- 5+ years knowing heavy-duty truck parts in a multi-branch, retail environment
- Parts counter or purchasing in a related industry
- Supervision experience an asset
- Demonstrated leadership abilities (e.g. training and coaching staff)
- Ability to communicate effectively with varying levels of people
- Builds relationships and negotiates prices with industry suppliers Organized, sets priorities, meets deadlines
- Aptitude for numbers and shows attention to detail
- Ability to make independent decisions and work well within a team setting
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methods and asset
