**Position Description**:
We are looking for a Biostatistician to join our Biostatistics, Design, and Analysis Team. The Biostatistician will work with Senior Biostatisticians as well as clinical researchers from across the organization to prepare and analyze data using a variety of tools and platforms.

**Here is What You’ll Get To Do**
- Study Design
- Provide consultation to clinician investigators to help plan and design clinical research studies to ensure consistently high quality clinical research throughout the hospital.
- Evaluate the feasibility of studies (selection of outcomes, parameter estimates, power and sample size calculations)
- Statistical Analysis
- Plan the statistical analysis in consultation with clinical investigators and a senior biostatistician and be accountable for the following:

- Use statistical programs, prepare summary statistics, graphical methods, and data queries (to look for duplication, errors in logic) to ensure data quality and identify outliers and potential data errors
- Perform the statistical analysis as well as explain and interpret the results
- Prepare summary tables and figures
- Review manuscripts/abstracts prior to submission
- Prepare data for publication and/or presentation at scientific meetings, which may include writing and/or reviewing analysis sections of manuscripts
- Maintain proper documentation of the statistical analysis process
- Professional Development & Scholarship
- Engage in professional growth activities to further develop or enhance knowledge and skills in the domains of education, practice, research, and leadership
- Participate actively in relevant rounds (e.g. BDA Rounds) including providing feedback to presenters on biostatistical issues and presentations
- Participate as an educator in Biostatistics education classes within SickKids
- Keep abreast of current medical developments and issues related to consulting projects
- Attend courses and conferences, as needed
- Extract the appropriate data from the merged database or other locally developed databases to produce required reports, prepare summary sheets of stats recorded
- Create and utilize REDCap databases
- Adhere to hospital and department standards, policies, and procedures

**Here’s What You’ll Need**Minimum 5 years relevant experience in statistical consultation in a research setting (e.g. Academic Health Sciences Centre, university, or pharmaceutical company).
-Proficiency and knowledge of multiple software platforms including Microsoft Office Suite, R, Python, C++, and SAS
-Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and work with mínimal supervision
-Creative acumen and willingness to participate to improve the business flow, procedures or strategies in place
-High precision and attention to detail, patience and ability to work with multiple concurrent deadlines.
-Excellent verbal and communications skills
