**The Opportunity**

This position works out of our Ottawa, Ontario location in the Point of Care, Diagnostics division. We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.

Our Point of Care diagnostic portfolio spans key health and therapeutic areas, including infectious disease, cardiometabolic, informatics and toxicology.

This role is responsible for overseeing and managing our Accounts Payable team, which includes both local and offshore support. This role will also be the site lead with regards to treasury activities & tax support to both Abbott Corporate in Chicago & Montreal.

**What You’ll Do**
- Financial reporting & analysis for both actual results and LBE’s (Latest Best Estimates): Meet all financial reporting requirements with agreed upon timelines.
- Provide timely, accurate, and insightful analysis which provides senior management necessary information with which to address variances and develop corrective actions.
- Financial Planning (Plan, Quarterly LBE’s): Meet all financial requirements for the planning cycle within agreed upon timelines.
- Internal Controls / Identify Business Issues: Assure compliance with Abbott CFM’s and GAAP related to APOC’s financial and customs processes.
- Anticipate and identify accounting issues for senior management.
- Taxes: Act as the primary contact with external accountants regarding tax issues.
- Coordinate and complete all tax schedules as per agreed upon timelines.
- Complete quarterly tax provision estimates.
- Pension: Complete pension activities including planning, reporting, compliance.
- Audits: Liaise with financial auditors (both internal & external), and assist with the audits by coordinating the completion of all required schedules and answering inquiries.
- Effectively manage the FP&A team with continuous learning, challenging them where possible, giving constructive feedback, and providing overall guidance and leadership.
- Liaise with payroll to ensure payroll costs are accurately represented within the financials.
- Treasury related duties such as intercompany funding and projections.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

**Required Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in business/finance/accounting.
- CPA Designation.
- 6-10 years related experience with progressing responsibilities.
- Ability to operate independently with broad scope of responsibility under mínimal supervision and under challenging time constraints.
- Ability to communicate, clearly, accurately, and concisely with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to facilitate interpretation and understanding of data, identify risks, develop recommendations, and implement solutions.
- Ability to form and develop interpersonal professional relationships, display socially and professionally appropriate behavior.
- Ability to work independently and in groups.
- Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of GAAP and Canadian provincial and federal taxation regulations where applicable.
