**AGADA Overview**

AGADA is a contract research organization (CRO) providing specialized services to pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Unlike most CROs, AGADA provides services in niche areas of research that require further standardization. Our mission is to facilitate and accelerate drug development for rare diseases, serving an internation clientele. Key to accomplishing this mission is training and retaining a highly skilled workforce in Nova Scotia. We offer both preclinical drug efficacy studies and clinical (human) trial drug development support services. AGADA has performed over 100 drug efficacy studies in murine models of muscular dystrophy and has supported >50 Phase I/II clinical efficacy studies (Duchene, Becker, ALS, DM1).

**Research Associate (Clinical Operations)**
- Clinical site communication and management
- Performing clinical site training and biopsy management services
- Real-time biopsy processing observation and management
- Receiving, managing inventory database, and performing quality checks for clinical biopsies
- Histological techniques for sample quality (tissue sectioning, staining, and analysis)
- Participation with laboratory team to carry out experimental designs for clinical studies
- Participates in regular Sponsor update meetings
- Biopsy usage and allocation planning
- Biopsy blinding management
- Data Analysis
- Accurate record maintenance and analysis of all data
- Support for biomarker testing and timeline management
- Standard Operating Procedure writing.
- Participates in weekly general laboratory discussions with fellow staff and management.
- Participates in research and validation studies if required
