Job Description:
: The Business Analyst, LPM (BA) is responsible for facilitating the assessment of new initiative proposals within the Cogeco Enterprise backlog, ensuring identification of the High-Level scope for the initiative, and the stakeholders required for the successful delivery. The BA, LPM engages and liaises with multiple departments/teams, Business, Product, Finance and the Delivery groups, ensuring all required stakeholders are represented in the initiative analysis, feasibility & cost estimation sessions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the Lean Portfolio Management of the Estimation Pipeline and provide status weekly updates to Key Stakeholders.
- Validate all proposal submissions to the Enterprise backlog and assess them as per the defined processes and best practices.
- Leverage Business Analyst skills to identify and document stakeholders and the High Level scope items for the successful value delivery from the initiative.
- Facilitate working sessions to estimate the detailed cost estimate for delivery.
- Identify and document potential and existing risks towards the successful delivery and optimal Customer Experience.
- Provide ad-hoc Business Analyst support for initiatives within the Estimation phases, including but not limited to HL requirements functional & non-functional requirement definition, Business Process Gap Analysis and Impact Analysis.
- Coaching and Support on the Lean Portfolio Management Process
- Identify Continuous Improvement opportunities within the LPM and other supporting processes.
- Collaborate with upper management and Product Leads, by supplying expertise and a broader outlook in regards to various business areas and product performance analysis.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
- Participate on Corporate level initiatives, impacting multiple Cogeco Communication Inc. subsidiaries.
- Proactively anticipate and identify issues and risks on an initiative.
- Actively engage and participate in peer reviews and provide coaching and guidance related to the quality and completeness of a document or deliverable.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
ACADEMIC TRAINING- Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma/Certificate with relevant experience - in Information Technology.-
- Business Analyst Certification an asset.- WORK EXPERIENCE- Minimum 8 years of experience in Information Technology or Product introduction in all phases of the Product Development Life-Cycle.-
- Minimum 5 years of experience in system or product analysis including requirements definition, feasibility studies, cost estimates, proposals, design, development, quality assurance, user acceptance testing and implementation.-
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Business Process design.SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES- Bilingualism (French/English) preferred as Cogeco operations are in both Quebec and Ontario.-
- Ability to set personal objectives that meet organizational needs and manage self to deliver on set objectives.-
- In-depth knowledge of the telecommunications industry. Extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices and technology to solve business problems.-
- Experience working with agile methodologies, including Kanban and Scrum practices.Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative in identifying and resolving problems independently. Monitoring own work for quality.-
- Experienced in effectively supporting multiple initiatives, executing multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently while working with conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.-
- Strong planning and troubleshooting skills with the ability to “think outside the box” and see the “big picture” impact of decisions/actions.-
- Experience with Business Process design using BPMN.-
