**POSITION OVERVIEW**:

- As an Electrical Design Coordinator, you will manage, coordinate, and implement all phases of construction projects from planning and design to construction and completion.**DISTRICT OVERVIEW**:

- Ganotec is a full service, heavy industrial contractor serving the industrial sector across Canada. Ganotec typically self performs all major disciplines including, civil, structural steel erection, heavy mechanical equipment installation, process piping and electrical / instrumentation and controls. We conduct our business through a variety of commercial contract types including full turnkey, EPC, design build or T&M. We have always been a strong proponent of “partnering”, working in collaboration with owners, major equipment suppliers and engineers at the early stages of the project development phase to allow for a more cost-effective execution strategy for the project. - This position is based in Oakville, Ontario.**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Perform material takeoffs from drawings, specifications and other contract documents
- Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations
- Assist Engineers to gather and prepare data for submittal or transmittal to the customer, vendors, subcontractors, governmental agencies, and internal use
- Assist in preparation of requisitions and subcontracts, performing minor solicitations and purchasing as requested
- Assist in schedule maintenance and schedule progress.
- Assist in the maintenance of basic project recordkeeping and correspondence functions including daily reports, photographs, requests for information (RFIs), and memorandums
- Assist with entering data into the job cost system and participate in reviewing cost reports with jobsite management
- Assist in generating change orders and as-built data to be reviewed by the Project Engineer.
- Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering minimum required.
- 2-4 years' minimum relevant experience in the construction or engineering industry.
- Communicates effectively orally and in writing. Present ideas clearly and in professional manner.
- Participates on teams effectively. Accepts direction from the team. Individually contributes to success of the team.
- Supports project teams and departments in a positive and productive manner. Works well with other to accomplish common goals and objectives.
- Serves as point of contact for external or internal customers.
- Follows through on commitments made to internal and external customers.
- Able to manage multiple responsibilities with set expectations and meet deadlines.
