Production Planner/scheduler

The Production Planner/Scheduler is responsible for scheduling planned production, and the coordination to replenish all of the direct materials (excluding whitewood) to meet the needs of the planned production schedule.
- Review direct material inventory and requirements through a usage reports.
- Manage planning and production master data.
- Lead-time, good receipts time calculation.
- Lot size calculation and procedure determination.
- Production versions and work center performance efficiency.
- Perform capacity requirement planning analysis (line loading & labour planning) and participate in discussion with operations team.
- Optimize finished goods stock coverage between sites in collaboration with the Planner Buyer.
- Run MRP Live.
- Manage master data inconsistencies, update machine and labour capacities.
- Create a production schedule in an optimal sequence.
- Schedule daily/weekly production meetings with all plants.
- Publish production schedule for a rolling horizon (packing, treating, and grading).
- Coordinate and perform monthly cycle and annual inventory counts
- Provide coverage and relief duties as well as other functions as assigned
Qualitications
- Grade 12 completed. Business Administration Degree or Supply Chain Management Degree and asset
- 3+ years of experience in production planning, inventory control or manufacturing
- Proficiency in English, spoken and written
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Problem solving, prioritization and conflict resolution skills
- Strong decision making and presentation skills
- Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures
- Maintain positive and enthusiastic attitude even in adverse situations
- Time and Stress management
- Excellent Customer service skills and the ability to anticipate customer needs
- Highly organized with strong time-management and attention to detail
- Advanced Computer skills (Microsoft Office), knowledge in SAP (IBP system is an asset)
- Extensive product knowledge in outdoor building materials industry (lumber) is an asset
