Our end finished capabilities are used in many industries including automotive, furniture, construction, etc. We supply welded tubes in a variety of shapes: round, square, rectangular and elliptical.
ArcelorMittal Tubular Products (AMTP) Brampton has an exciting opportunity to join our diverse operations team as the **Operations Manager**. To be successful, the individual needs proven hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Support safety & quality initiatives to meet ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and corporate requirements
- Support the Plant Manager in preparing the Operations Month-end for Business review meetings
- Manage the Operational & Materials/ Scheduling groups to meet or exceed Business Plan KPI goals and objectives
- Support and monitor performance measures to resolve safety, quality, and production issues
- Ensure Operational & Materials/ Scheduling employees understand, follow and support the EHS and Quality systems
- Responsible for the management and monitoring of all inventory and supplier performance with the intent to develop an optimized supplier chain
- Hire and develop staff that is responsible to exceed department goals/objectives as defined by the Customer's and Company's requirements
- Motivate and engage Supervisors and support them with performance counselling and progressive discipline
- Dealing with union grievances fairly, consistently, and speedily
- Attend Daily Production meetings to track and monitor performance measures and resolve safety, quality and production issues
- Participate as a member of the Brampton Management team
- Facilitate Weekly Production meetings to review scheduling and backlog constraints
- Attend APQP meetings to ensure new product launches take place in a timely and efficient manner
- Represent Operations on new equipment purchases or modifications
- Plan and manage Brampton Operations Budget
- Identify and communicate department goals and objectives
- Provide the necessary assistance and direction to address customer complaints;
- Participate and provide support to the Business Planning process
- Participate, provide direction and support on CIP / WCM activities and any special initiatives within the facility
- Carry out periodic informal and consistent mid year and & yearly end GEDP performance reviews with department staff to assess and inform individuals of their progress and offer assistance where it is needed to help them improve
- Accepts other related duties as deemed necessary by management.
**QUALIFICATION**
- Technical or Engineering Post Secondary Education or proven equivalent work experience
- 5 to 10 years managerial experience in a busy manufacturing environment
- Champion of safety, familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable Regulations
- Working knowledge of the latest edition of ISO 9001 and ISO 45001
- Excellent understanding of Excel and use of Power BI tools
- Understand the current “Collective Bargaining Agreement"
- Experience in project management
- Previous SAP experience is an asset
- Experience with steel forming tooling, and related processes
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Attentive to detail, organized and systematic
- Excellent communication
- Very good leadership skills and the ability to motivate team work
- Capacity to establish priorities, develop a plan and follow through to completion
- Customer oriented attitude
- Must work well under pressure
**Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities**:
Fast-paced environment (office and plant), using office equipment, computers, telephone and attending meetings; Working under pressure; Repetitive tasks; Attention to detail; Combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The incumbent may have to work additional hours to complete special requests and/or projects. Exposed to some outdoor conditions.
