**The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Dean, Faculty of Health and the Manager, Ambulatory Care & Regional Poison Centre, under the supervision of the Chair, Clinical Vision Science program (CVS) and the Team Leader, Eye Care Team, the Clinical Vision Science Coordinator provides high quality administrative and organizational support to the Clinical Vision Science program. The incumbent has the responsibility to ensure that the administrative requirements of the Clinical Vision Science Program are fulfilled.

The CVS Coordinator supports the development, implementation and administration of the CVS Program. This includes, but is not limited to: on-going processing for new and current students, academic curriculum development and maintenance, practicum formulation and monitoring, and accreditation compliance.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- 1. Curriculum coordination:
- Implement curriculum documentation and materials as required
- Review the development of course outlines
- Liaise with the Program Chair, Instructors, and Students to ensure that the curriculum meets the students didactic and professional needs
- Liaise with clinical partners
- Provide input into the timetable decisions and preparation of course and instructor schedules
- Administration of the Dalhousie University Learning Management System (LMS)
- Assist instructors in the development of online course content, assignments and tests
- Introduce upgrades to the Clinical Vision Science Program’s online teaching system according to university requirements
- Act as a resource in the introduction of new technology and instructional aids into the curriculum and provide training for Clinical Vision Science faculty and students
- Research educational techniques and develop procedures to determine whether program goals are being met
- Coordinate and monitor the evaluation of student progress
- Set up and organize online surveys for students and employers of graduates
- Coordinate the distance delivery of the Clinical Vision Science graduate program via Dalhousie University’s online learning system

2. Program coordination- Coordinate Accreditation activities (Accreditation Canada / International Council of Accreditation)
- Collaborates with Faculty of Health and Faculty of Graduate Studies administrative personnel
- Coordinate student enrolment and orientation
- Coordinate course and practicum activities
- Coordinate external placements
- Coordinate required site visits for CVS distance education satellite centres.
- Coordinate academic rounds
- Coordinate staff Continuing Education (CE) activities in collaboration with the Professional Practice Leader
- Coordinate Thesis administrative activities
- Coordinate Faculty appointments

The expected end results of program coordination is to ensure CVS program meets all Dalhousie administrative requirements, integrates effectively with the IWK Eye Care Team patient care schedule and maintains accreditation standards.

3. Other- Network with professional organizations
- Process CVS financial activities in conjunction with IWK and Dalhousie Finance
- Manage CVS website

**Hours of Work**:
Monday-Friday : 0800/0830—1600/1630

**Your Qualifications**:

- BSc or equivalent Bachelor degree, and graduate of an accredited school of Orthoptics and Ophthalmic Medical Technology, required.
- Experience as a certified orthoptist with the Canadian or American Orthoptic Council (COC/AOC) and as an Ophthalmic Medical Technologist with the Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) required
- Current Ophthalmic Medical Technologist certification with the Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) is highly recommended
- Minimum of 2 years clinical Ophthalmol
