Jamaican Delight Cuisine, a family-owned restaurant known for authentic Jamaican cuisine, is seeking a dedicated **Bartender** to join our team This is your chance to be part of a dynamic restaurant, ensuring the highest food preparation and service quality.

As Bartender, you will be a frontline staff member who quickly and effectively serves alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages to customers and guests with professionalism and poise while ensuring the integrity of Jamaican Delight Cuisine’s procedures. The Bartender will deliver an exceptional customer experience while promoting our health & safety, infectious disease prevention, and sustainability practices.
- Providing superior customer experience and satisfaction
- Completing beverage transactions with cashless payment systems or proper cash-handling procedures
- Taking beverage orders from serving staff or directly from customers
- Serving wine, beer and mixed drinks from the bar
- Checking proof of age of any guest or customer who appears to be under 18 for all alcoholic beverage purchases/services and ensuring the organization’s Duty of Care
- Loading bar area with beverages and mixes
- Directing relevant staff to clean and disinfect, where applicable, all glassware, utensils, and bar equipment
- Reporting any damaged equipment or product breakage/spillage to the manager and take appropriate action
- Understanding, following, and complying with Jamaican Delight Cuisine’s Health and Safety policy and OH&S Regulations
- Using GBAC’s infectious disease prevention measures and ensuring all equipment is adequately cleaned and disinfected
- Supporting and promoting Jamaican Delight Cuisine’s sustainability commitment
- A High School Diploma required
- Minimum 1 Year bartending experience
- Must have Pro-Serve certification
- Must know Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission rules and regulations
- Excellent verbal communication and problem-solving skills
- Business level of the English language
- Excellent customer service skills
- The ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Additional courses such as First Aid training, wine tasting, mixology, an asset
- Ability to use Point of Sale (POS) system and have cash handling experience an asset
- The availability to work mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends
