Program Coordinator

Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of those experiencing homelessness? Do you have experience in social work or working in community development initiatives? The Mustard Seed is seeking a **Program Coordinator** at the Calgary-Manchester Community Impact Centre.
The Program Coordinator will participate in programs that are essential to the alleviation of poverty and homelessness and build healthy relationships between stakeholders in The Mustard Seed’s diverse community. Reporting to the Community Impact Centre Manager, this position is responsible for facilitation of existing programs, implementation and development of new programs, providing assistance in front desk duties, and working alongside clients to foster relationships and develop client led programming at the Manchester Community Impact Centre.

**Schedule**: Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 4:00PM, evenings and occasional weekends

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Develop, facilitate, and implement programs that support and nurture the community in and around the Manchester Community Impact Centre
- Assist with our Community Impact Centre host duties
- Lead participants and volunteers involved in the programs
- Ensure a safe, respectful environment for all community members, staff, volunteers and visitors
- Collect data and generate reports on statistics as required
- Build and nurture relationships with external partners and stakeholders
- Jointly organize activities with the external and internal resources
- Ensure all materials and equipment needed for programs are in good working order
- Maintain measurables and assessment tools for programming and ensure that these are recorded/met
- Develop and conduct evaluations to determine effectiveness of program activities
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Participate in all staff training (e.g. First Aid, safeTALK, Nonviolence) and attend regular meetings with the team and support meetings with supervisor
- Other duties as may be assigned
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**
- An undergraduate degree in Social Work or related field or equivalent level of experience
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience working in community development initiatives
- Front line experience working with vulnerable populations and facilitating programs.
- Knowledge within the field of community development and community resilience initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to engage, communicate, and work effectively with a diverse range of people from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
- Experienced with developing creative solutions to complex challenges and problem
- Demonstrated effective conflict management, networking, and interpersonal communication skills
- Interest and skills in recreational activities is an asset
- Must be self-directed and have the ability to work independently as required
- Good computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle with a minimum of $2,000,000 liability insurance
**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Working environment will include indoor and outdoor activities, office work on computer
- Minimal to moderate physical effort required
- Lifting, traveling, sitting, standing, walking, driving personal vehicle etc. required as part of this role etc.
- Navigating interactions with challenging clients who may exhibit unpredictable behavior, including swearing, anger, and the possibility of becoming aggressive.
