**HOURS**: 4 days on & 4 days off rotational schedule
- 8:00am - 6:00pm & 1:00pm - 11:00pm with one hour break
- Weekday and Weekend shifts, flexibility required as demands of position vary

**Job Purpose**:
Bridge Housing is a short-term accommodation for individuals who are transitioning out of homelessness. This program help to identify and provide connections to appropriate community supports before tenants move on to other housing options, thereby improving the chances of long-term housing success and retention. The Bridge Housing Worker will work with to address day-to-day operations as well as collaboration with Housing First teams and other external partners. The Bridge Housing Worker builds will work to build relationships with tenants in a meaningful way and works to meet their immediate needs.

**KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Builds relationships and provides services to people living at Sandy’s Place (Crash Hotel), with the goal of nurturing life-skills and long-term housing goals.
- Provide a safe and dignified living environment for individuals transitioning out of homelessness.
- Completes new intakes and documentation of incoming tenants.
- Deliver meals to tenants, daily.
- Assists in the process of residential conflict management, and eviction.
- De-escalates conflicts and respond to crisis situations including emergency and overdose response.
- Works with participants to meet immediate needs and connects to appropriate community resources.
- Maintains a healthy and clean work environment by taking part in cleaning and organization duties as needed.
- Works collaboratively with external service providers including but not limited to: Housing First teams, Homecare, AHS, EPS, and other community supports.
- Performing other related duties as assigned by the Manager.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:
Diploma or Degree in Human Services, or other related degree considered an asset. Relevant experience required.

**Skills, Abilities and Attitudes**:

- Ability to work in partnership with other organizations.
- Flexibility, creativity, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work in a highly stressful and ever-changing environment.
- Able to work non-judgmentally with all individuals within a trauma-informed, harm reduction framework.
- Demonstrated and effective writing and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated de-escalation and emergency response skills.
- Ability to work in an Indigenous cultural context.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel in particular).
- Comfortable working with a diverse population including newcomers, individuals experiencing homelessness, isolation, and issues related to substance use, mental health, etc.
- Familiarity with local community resources (e.g. substance use, social services, justice).

**Experience**:

- Experience working in a community drop-in, group home, or other residential setting is an asset.
- Experience working with inner-city agencies is an asset.
- Experience with note-taking and detailing shift reports.

**Other Requirements**:

- A strong commitment to upholding the guiding philosophies, value and beliefs of BSCS.
- Enhanced Security Clearance conducted by Edmonton Police Service and Child Intervention Check.
- First-Aid Certification.
