Willowbrae Academy Burnside is looking for a PASSIONATE, PROFESSIONAL & ENERGETIC Inclusion Support to join our Inclusion Team at our Academy in Dartmouth.

In this role, you will provide nurturing care and education to young children in a group setting. Each day, you will help children to learn and grow by implementing a daily balance of active/ quiet, indoor/ outdoor, free structured, individual and group activities that will encourage physical, social, intellectual, emotional, and sensory development at the appropriate level for each child.

**Qualifications**:
An Inclusion Support employed at Willowbrae Academy® should have a strong background in early childhood education, successful work experience in an early childhood setting, successful experience in working with families and children with special needs, appropriate communication skills, the ability to design and implement inclusive programs and activities within the classroom, a willingness to adhere to the Academy's stated philosophy, and a demonstrated commitment to professional development.

Typically, the successful applicant will have a recognized degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent, and a minimum of three years related work experience. A valid First Aid and Infant CPR certification are also required as well as a clear child abuse registry and criminal record check. Successful applicants may be required to complete additional courses if they do not meet all the established minimum qualifications. The selection committee reserves the right to choose an applicant who meets all or most of the above mentioned criteria. The selection committee will use both the interview and outside references in choosing the most appropriate applicant.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following**:

- meet with the Director and families to assess children’s needs prior to enrolment be knowledgeable in the areas of child development, inclusion and best practice
- welcome the family and integrate each child into the group upon arrival
- assist staff to implement learning experiences which meets the needs of children in all developmental areas in an inclusive environment
- be knowledgeable of and organize resources for children, staff and families
- support staff in the development of Individual Program Plans (IPP’s) for children
- encourage parent involvement
- attend meetings, training, and case conferences as required for children
- establish professional relationships with community resources and outside agencies for family support
- meet with professional resources within the community and in centre
- keep accurate records of children progress and development while in our care
- maintain confidentiality of centre and family information
