SaskAbilities is dedicated to providing supported employment services to assist job seekers in defining and achieving their employment goals while supporting employers to meet their hiring needs. We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our team in the position of Career Planner & Work Experience Coordinator. This position is guided by the Supported Employment philosophy and focuses on providing the development and coordination of employment experiences and opportunities for people experiencing disability and/or barriers to employment.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Conducts intake meetings with the intent of gathering information from, and providing information to, job seekers. The intended outcome is to offer suitable service delivery options.
- Works collaboratively with job seekers to enhance and activate an employment-based action plan, using a person-centred and strength-based approach.
- Initiates and maintains positive communications with job seekers’ team members, referring agents, and other supports to update action plans and coordinate appropriate services.
- Arranges, delivers and supports job seeker engagement in services that will enhance employment capacity.
- Promotes to employers and others the benefits of supported employment services including job coaching, job carving, job accommodations and specific support strategies that will encourage a smooth entry into an employer’s workplace.
- Develops and coordinates individualized work experience placements including workplace tours and job shadows, and liaise with employers to outline opportunities that reflect the goals and action items within each job seeker’s plan.
- Provide on-site support of work experiences to ensure they are beneficial to job seeker’s growth and development of work skills and behaviours.
- Completes administrative duties including file recordings, performance indicators and outcome measures.
- Participates in relevant community activities or networking events to build knowledge of other community supports.

Works effectively as part of a team.

**Qualifications**:

- Relevant post-secondary education in Human Services and two years related experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of issues pertaining to training and employment that people experiencing disability and/or barrier to employment may encounter, including supported employment models.
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills, empowering people to build independence.
- Effective written and verbal communication, problem solving, time management and organizational skills.
- Experience of, and understanding with, Crisis Intervention Practices, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Counselling, Job Coaching and/or Job Finding Club.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and a reliable vehicle.
