Description:
The Community Services I&IT Cluster (CSC) of the Ontario Public Service serves the Ministries of: Colleges, and Universities (MCU), Education (EDU), Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH), and Tourism, Culture and Sport (MTCS). DDSB supports the ministries by providing information management tools that help enable public policy decision making, business and strategic planning, program support, comprehensive review and continuous improvement.
The Asset Management Unit of the DDSB supports client ministries by providing asset and information management tools that support robust data and analytics. This enhances our clients’ access to timely and relevant data holdings, strengthening our partner Ministries’ ability to drive greater efficiencies and better outcomes.
The Education Capital Information System (ECIS) supports the School Board Advanced Support Branch of the Capital and Business Support Division and collects and maintains facilities data for Ontario schools that receive funding from the Ministry of Education. The data collected in ECIS is a key factor in determining various grants allocated by the Ministry to the school boards in Ontario. The allocated funds are utilized in the maintenance and upkeep of facilities in operations and in the operating, planning and building of new educational facilities.
**DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES**
Lead the development and delivery of functional and ministry-specific analytics to support evidence-based decision-making and produce actionable insights. Work closely with client groups to assess current data analytics and reporting capabilities, gather future-state requirements, and identify opportunities for improvement. Facilitate decision-making and manage client expectations. Own the execution of analytics initiatives including end-to-end reporting and data set delivery. Participate in documentation, development, and testing.
Work with functional area experts, Data Architects, ETL Developers, and stakeholders to understand complex business issues and develop appropriate Business Intelligence solutions. Design methods to capture, structure, transform, and process data to generate models. Build data models that provide accurate, easy-to-understand, and unbiased information. Communicate complex quantitative analysis clearly and precisely, providing useful visuals and summaries. Provide interpretation, advice, and expertise to client groups and other stakeholders, including direction on transforming analytics into actionable information and proactive insights that support decision-making.
