Activate is a tech company known for creating Canada’s first full-scale interactive gaming facility. We are looking to expand our team with the addition of a Systems Operations Leader. In the position of Systems Operations Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the Systems Operations team, the management of our corporate IT Infrastructure, including networking, desktop / laptop hardware and software management, and our Cloud infrastructure. In addition, you will have responsibility for the maintenance of our networking infrastructure at our Activate game facilities. Finally, as Activate grows, you will have significant input into and some responsibility for larger infrastructure projects relating to scaling our operations.

**The Duties and Responsibilities**:

- People Leadership_
- Lead the recruitment process for Support Technicians and other team members in Systems Operations
- Responsible for training and development of new and current Support Technicians and Systems Operations team members
- Manage performance of employees, including coaching informally and formally
- Oversee day to day operations including interpreting and communicating company expectations; must be flexible and available to address issues that may arise
- Confirm and approve timesheets and time off requests; field employee questions related to payroll
- IT_
- Installation, configuration, documentation, licensing and maintenance of our Corporate Office IT infrastructure and networking infrastructure, including hardware, purchased software and custom software
- Maintenance of our hardware and networking infrastructure in our gaming facilities
- Configuration and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure
- Definition, installation, rollout and maintenance of infrastructure monitoring and alerting software
- Installation and maintenance of security software and policies in our Corporate Office
- Other tasks and duties as assigned

**The Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or Diploma in Information Technology is required
- 5-8 years previous IT Infrastructure Engineer or Systems Administrator experience
- Willingness to work irregular hours if / when needed, including evenings and weekends
- Familiarity with network architecture using UniFi networking systems is an asset
- Familiarity with managing and licensing Microsoft Office products including Office365, and/or Google Suite / Google Workspace would be an asset
- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure would be an asset
