**Job Summary**:
In this critical role, the Security & Compliance Manager, will act as the Company Security Officer and be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with Canadian export regulations and laws to support MMIST’s international business operations. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining the integrity of our export processes and ensuring adherence to all applicable export control requirements.

**Responsibilities**:
MMIST Security
- Manage the Controlled Goods Program and provide guidance and perform security assessments.
- Act as the Company Security Officer and accountable for all the responsibilities that entails.
- Work closely with the designated ACSO’s to keep them informed of high risks and escalations.
- Provide training and guidance to aid MMIST’s transition to independence.
- Partner with IT regarding Cybersecurity risks and compliance.

Export Compliance Management:

- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive export compliance program that aligns with Canadian export regulations, including the Export Control List (ECL) and the Export and Import Permits Act (EIPA).
- Monitor and interpret changes in Canadian export laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance with applicable requirements.
- Conduct internal audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and develop corrective action plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Human Resources, IT, Procurement, Finance, Business Development, and Operations, to provide guidance and support on export compliance matters.

Export License and Permit Management:

- Review export-related documentation, including shipping documents, technical data, and end-use statements, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain records of all export transactions, licenses, and permits in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Compliance Training and Education:

- Develop and deliver training programs on export compliance to employees involved in export activities, ensuring they understand and adhere to applicable regulations.
- Stay up to date on export control training and certification programs to enhance personal expertise and knowledge.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

- Conduct risk assessments of export transactions and business partners to identify and mitigate potential compliance risks.
- Implement internal controls and processes to prevent unauthorized exports and ensure proper due diligence in screening parties involved in export transactions.

Regulatory Reporting and Documentation:

- Prepare and submit regulatory reports and disclosures related to exports as required by Canadian authorities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date export compliance documentation, including policies, procedures, and records.

Leadership and Management:

- Lead and mentor the Logistics and Compliance Specialist, fostering a culture of collaboration, high performance, and continuous learning.
- Provide guidance and support to team members, promoting their professional growth and development.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, encouraging open communication and teamwork
- Support Logistics as required.

**Skills/Qualifications**:

- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to assess and mitigate compliance risks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external regulatory authorities.

**Education & Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in international trade, business, law, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in export compliance management, specifically focused on Canadian export regulations in the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian export control laws, regulations, and frameworks, including the ECL and EIPA.
- Strong understanding of international trade compliance principles, such as ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations).
- Proven experience in developing and implementing export compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
