Boeing Global Services (BGS) Digital Aviation Solutions (DAS) has an exciting growth opportunity for a **Manager of Defense & Government Services** in **Ottawa**, reporting to the Senior Manager of Software development in Vancouver.

This position is a first level manager role in support of the Boeing Global Services (BGS) Digital Aviation Solutions (DAS) organization. In this role you will lead the Medium to Heavy Lift Helicopter (MHLH) Electronic Information Environment (EIE) scope for Boeing Vancouver team and work within and across all Integrated Product Teams such as Engineering, Supply and Logistics Support Analysis (LSA). This role is an integral part of the Boeing team, driving execution of a variety of technical and business-related initiatives across the Program.

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Manages employees, and Purchased Services partners performing software development activities.
- In partnership with product management, develops and executes integrated portfolio plans, including portfolio business and technical strategies, goals and priorities.
- Acquires resources for product development activities and oversees purchased services deliverables.
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
- Ensures adherence to software quality, safety and other compliance requirements.
- Implements software development methodologies to achieve efficiency and quality goals
- Manages, develops and motivates employees. Recruits new team members.
- Effective organization, teamwork, and collaboration skills to work productively in a cross-functional, multi-level environment with shifting priorities and requirements.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to interface with executive leadership, enterprise workforce, and internal/external customers or partners

**Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)**:

- 3+ years of experience leading multiple teams and projects that involve cross-functional and/or cross-business domains
- 5+ years of experience communicating and collaborating directly with internal or external customers, suppliers, peers, other employees, and all levels of leadership
- Minimum 2 years working in a leadership role
- Must be legally able to work in Canada
- Must be willing and eligible to work on Canadian government and defense-related programs.
- Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
- Must be eligible for Secret Level II security clearance
- Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data

**Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)**:

- Prefer experience working with Government programs
- Knowledge of the Canadian Government procurement process
- Prefer experience within the Aerospace domain
- Prefer experience with IT/Software Development
- Current Secret II clearance
