Overview of the Role
Reporting to the Production, Supervisor (Cheese), the Operator, Production is responsible for assisting in the manufacturing and bulk format finishing/packaging of cheese in accordance with the standards and safety objectives established by Senior Management of the company.
How you will make contributions that matter:
- Operate all production equipment as per standard operating procedures to ensure the highest quality product possible
- Responsible for receiving of raw materials such as incoming milk, UF Milk, cream, secondary culture, and whey
- Record all required data and inventory entries with a high level of accuracy
- Understand the disassembly & assembly of cheese production equipment
- Assist in the manufacturing process and cleaning process as required
- Ensure that safe conditions exist always within the work environment; will take appropriate action to protect the health and safety of employees and comply with all requirements as stated in the Health and Safety policy
- Full participation in the HACCP program and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices
- Ensure the efficient and effective use of equipment and material resource
- Must demonstrate teamwork, co-operation, responsibility, initiative and the ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Other duties as assigned
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated analytical and organizational skills
- Must be self-motivated, results oriented and possess high degree of initiative, and work well with mínimal supervision
- Must be available to work various shifts, weekends, and work overtime as required
- Demonstrate ability to use computer software and programs
- Proficiency and dependability in current position
