**About us**

**Position Summary**

Coordination of construction team and administer contractors for new construction projects from inception to completion as outlined below.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Prepare tender packages and contract awards;
- Contract administration including execution and coordination of site instructions and change orders;
- Coordinate and conduct site meetings and site visits;
- Shop drawing review and coordination;
- Coordinate project start up including consultant drawings, permanent and temporary utilities;
- Construction budgets and project schedules;
- Coordinate inspection and testing services;
- Liaison with building inspectors and city officials;
- Final inspections, substantial completion, occupancy and turnover;
- Project close-out IHCL, as-built drawings, warranty documents, and close out manuals;
- Manage and direct the work of: Project Management Assistant;
- Ensure and enforce compliance to all company, client and legislated Safety policies and procedures;
- Liaison between Ownership and Architect for Permit Applications and Submissions
- Security Release (LC) Execution with all applicable municipalities
- Perform Site Visits to ensure that all Projects are on Schedule and Comply with Metrus Construction Standards
- Prepare budgets for Proposed & New Projects
- Attend various Weekly Site Meetings on upon the onset of a Project to ensure it starts as planned
- Other duties or projects as assigned from time to time;

**Education and Experience**
- A university degree in civil engineering or a college diploma in construction technology is usually required;
- A master's degree in project management may be required;
- Several years of experience in the construction industry, including experience as a construction supervisor or field superintendent, are usually required;
- PMP certification an asset;
- Extensive experience in the construction industry may substitute for post-secondary education requirements;
- Professional engineering status or construction trade certification may be required by some employers.

**Health and Safety**
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the _OHSA_, regulations, and internal policies and procedures;
- Report to his or her supervisor any missing or defective equipment or protective device which could endanger any person;
- Report to his or her manager the contravention of the _OHSA_, regulations, or company H&S policies and procedures or any observed hazard;
- Refrain from operating any equipment, machine, device or thing or otherwise working in a manner that may endanger anyone;
- Avoid engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct;
- Know, understand and implement safe work practices and procedures;
- Know, understand and employ established rules and procedures for handling materials, equipment and processes (e.g. reporting unlabelled containers, using proper lifting techniques, etc.);
- Request that worn out or defective equipment be replaced;
- Use all safety devices provided, ensuring optimum condition of devices and report any defects immediately to a supervisor;
- Use equipment and materials only in the manner intended;
- Report all injuries, incidents, hazards and unusual conditions immediately to supervisor;
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures as related to your work area.

**Working Conditions**
- Typical hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; additional hours may be required;
- Moderate physical effort. Moderate exposure to environmental conditions. Moderate shift work or non-standard hours of work required.
