**Job Summary**:
River East Transcona School Division is hiring a full-time 11-month Divisional Nutrition Program Coordinator to oversee a Nutrition Program. The Coordinator will be a key contributor to the development of the Nutrition Program, supervising and overseeing a complement of up to 40 full-time and casual staff, and will be responsible for the planning, delivery, evaluation, and reporting on the Division’s Nutrition Program.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide guidance, support, and supervision to school-based staff responsible for preparing and serving meals and snacks. This includes conducting training sessions, offering resources, and ensuring staff adhere to food safety and program standards.
- Assist schools in designing balanced and healthy menus for breakfast/snack/lunch meals, while paying attention to different dietary needs, cultural diets, and preferences.
- In collaboration with members of the senior administration team or delegates, oversee the budget for the program, including purchasing food, supplies, and equipment, while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate with other school divisions, suppliers, and vendors to source high-quality ingredients and food items within the allocated budget.
- Identify service locations for making/acquiring food and daily delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of meal counts, inventory, and financial transactions
- Promote the program to increase participation and educate students and parents about the school nutrition program. Maintain program database and prepare statistical and narrative program reports as required.
- Ensure that the program meets to health and safety regulations.
- Collect and maintain data related to program participation.
- Liaise with Superintendent of Education Services & Planning and Manager of Community Initiatives.
- Work closely with school administrators to assist with school-based delivery of the nutrition program.

**Qualifications, Skills and Abilities**:

- Qualifications_
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- 3-5 years of experience coordinating projects and tracking budgets is an asset
- Food Handler Certification is required
- Demonstrated skill in navigating inter-sectoral and multiple stakeholder environments
- Proven organizational, time management and multi-tasking capabilities
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams
- Demonstrated ability and knowledge of various cultural dietary practices and traditions
- Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication
- External applicants must supply a Criminal Record Search and a cleared Child Abuse Registry check upon hire
- Skills and abilities _
- Incumbent may be required to work evenings
- Class 5 Driver License is required
- Access to a reliable vehicle is required

Salary range: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
