Healthcare Operations Manager
**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
Reporting to the Director of Healthcare, the Healthcare Operations Manager will have responsibility for client services and operational delivery within the Lower Mainland Health Authorities structure. This position will play a pivotal role in ensuring Paladin’s quality service offerings are delivered in accordance with contracted expectations, working closely with our Healthcare client groups, including Integrated Protection Services. This position is responsible for the day to day operations of healthcare security services, which includes development of policies, incident management, quality assurance management, scheduling, and management of Area Security Leads and their assigned portfolios. This role will work closely with the current Healthcare Operations Manager and Director of Healthcare and in strong partnership with our client groups, achieving a best in class healthcare security program. This position will be based out of our Burnaby office but will be required to travel throughout the Lower Mainland on a regular basis.

**TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Facilitates overall coordination between the health authorities, client groups and Paladin Security while maintaining excellent and effective relationships with stakeholders
- Establishes and implements short
- and long-term operational strategies that ensure all contractual obligations are met and expectations of our service delivery are exceeded
- Establishes measurable targets and monitors program deliverables to effectively evaluate performance of all subordinate staff
- Demonstrates a strong operational presence on sites in the Lower Mainland, building rapport with front-line staff and regularly auditing security programs
- Oversees the performance of and provides guidance to management and supervisory staff while fostering excellent team dynamics and providing support for all subordinate staff
- Represents Paladin Security at regular contract management and operational meetings with client groups
- Implements and maintains a monthly Key Performance Indicator program that meets the needs of different client organizations, while ensuring all monthly deliverables are submitted on time
- Ensures all portfolios remain within established margins and supports management and supervisory team with overtime mitigation strategies
- Ensures all management personnel have strong staff succession plans in place to uphold Paladin’s goal of promotion from within
- Regularly liaises with branch departments and business streams
- Ensures that all services provided by staff are delivered in accordance within established healthcare best-practices and in accordance with PSG’s code of ethics
- Assists in the development, implementation and review of policies, standards and procedures that are consistent with the philosophies and practices of PSG and BC Healthcare client groups
- Assists in the development of emergency response plans and developing goals and objectives for the department related to the continual improvement and testing of emergency response plans
- Advances training levels of security and management staff through both internal and external training
- Maintains an active membership in IAHSS with the intent to be a board member of the local chapter, and/or other IAHSS volunteer positions
- Displays an ongoing commitment to personal education (CPP, CHPA, PSP, etc)
- Acts as the lead for the BC Healthcare portfolio in the absence of the Director of Healthcare
- Performs other tasks as required to support the BC Healthcare portfolio and PSG initiatives

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education and Experience**

A successful applicant must have a minimum of 5 years security experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity, or a combination of experience and relevant experience /education, preferably in a health care environment. Applicants must also have a valid driver’s license and a vehicle that will be used for work purposes. A diploma in Security Management, Criminology, Health Care Administration or related discipline would be an asset.

The successful applicant will become an active member with the International Association of Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) and must have, or be willing to work towards obtaining their Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) designation.
