The Educational Assistant is a member of a multidisciplinary team that provides assessment, consultation, and educational supports for children experiencing difficulties in social, developmental, communication, physical, play, and overall preschool skills development. The Educational Assistant reports directly to the Coordinating Teacher.

The Educational Assistant works with a set team (Teacher, SLP, OT, PT) delivering services to multiple children in their respective programs.

**Hours**: 6-15 hours per week. Working hours in between 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday to Friday)

**Job Type**: Part-time-Temporary
- Support Children with developmental delays in community preschool/daycare.
- Works with an inter-disciplinary team comprised of a teacher and therapist.
- Establishes and support an inclusive early learning environment.
- Establishes supportive and respectful relationships among staff, children, families and community.
- Monitor and provides documentation to document students’ progress.
- Tend to various needs of children (diapering, toileting) as required.
- Integrate feedback, suggestions or recommendations made by consulting team into daily activities with children.
- Participate in monthly training workshops.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and other Requirements**:

- Must have love and compassion towards children
- Level 1 of Childcare Staff Certification (Child Development Assistant Certificate).
- A positive and empathetic approach that enables one to deal with challenging situations with kindness.
- Excellent organization and communication skills, with an ability to work well under mínimal supervision.
- Regular outdoor work, including times of inclement weather.
- Comfort with frequent kneeling and squatting for much of a shift, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Have current certification in Standard Child Care First Aid and CPR or Standard First Aid and CPR.
- Current Child Intervention AND Police Record Check (6 months or more recent prior to hire date).
- Ability to move between work sites and office as required.

**Assets**:

- In occasional circumstances, must have the ability to run to ensure child’s safety.
