**Production Operator for Morning & Afternoon shift**

**Parwood Industries **is a small business specialized in copper processing and door components wholesale, on a fast-growing trend.

We are looking to expand our copper processing production team by hiring new people promoting equality, diversity and inclusion within the company.

Production Operator & Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for production and repairs/maintenance, by ensuring that day-to-day operations run in a safely, efficient and smooth manner.

**Production Operator Tasks & Responsibilities**:

- Understand all the aspects and details of facility’s operations and production equipment, in order to adjust, fine-tune and troubleshoot machineries.
- Understand and follow operation and work instructions. Suggest improvements, if any.
- Perform equipment adjustments and daily setups, as needed.
- Perform regular checkups and implement maintenance procedures, following internal quality management programs, to identify possible problems and prevent damages of the equipment.
- Perform necessary repairs and parts / components / consumables replacements within the equipment of the production line.
- Perform maintenance work on any of the equipment within the production line, following work instructions given by the Shift Supervisor, Production Manager and / or Director of Production.
- Solves (if possible) any safety issues and / or mitigate safety hazards in the workplace. If not possible to solve or address, reports them ASAP to the Production Manager.
- Responsible for Production Operators work performance and quality, as well as for their safety, by overseeing and assigning tasks for the Production Operators working in the same shift.
- After the 2 weeks extensive on-the-job training program, will be able to operate the entire production line (each and every workstation) when required.
- Responsible for the quality of the material output (separation stations) when operating.
- Responsible for a safe and efficient operation of the entire production line, by making sure no unnecessary disruptions or downtimes occur at any of the workstations throughout the entire shift.
- Troubleshoot or Report any breakdowns / downtimes to the Production Manager, including possible reasons and solutions for it
- Implements and maintains a great housekeeping procedure, by keeping working and storage areas in an impeccable shape at a high level of cleanliness and tidiness within the entire workplace.
- Assist team leader/supervisor to run the production, so the daily targets are met on a regular basis.
- Control the quality of the output and keep waste within limits.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Conduct operations in a manner that maintains high standards of health and safety to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Report safety hazards, if any.
- Willing and able to work straight 8-hour shift

**Work Hours & Benefits**

Work days/hours: Monday to Friday, (6 am to 2:00 pm & 2 pm to 10 pm).

Salary range: $22-25/hour; TBD at the time of interview

**Production Operator Status/Qualifications/Skills**:

- **Applicants must have the right to work in Canada (i.e. active Work Permit, Permanent Residents of Canada or Canadian citizens), and reside in Canada at the time of employment.**:

- Good technical/operational understanding of manufacturing/production lines is an asset.
- Able to multi-task and have great hands-on/good with tools aptitudes.
- Must have reliable transportation/commute options.
- Good English Language Skills, both written & verbal.
- Able to work within team settings, as well as independently.
- Strong sense of time organization and urgency.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs weight.
- Willing to learn and expand knowledge, in order to take advantage of the opportunities given by the company’s Internal Professional-growth Program.

**Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements**:

- Minimum: high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Technical institute, college or trading school certificate is a big plus, and will be taken into consideration accordingly when hourly rate is to be set.
- 6 months production experience is an asset.
- Forklift Certification is an asset.
