**SOCIAL SERVICES ASSISTANT - Edmonton**

FULL TIME / TEMPORARY (SEASONAL)

LOCATION: Edmonton, ALBERTA, CANADA

$20.00 PER HOUR / 35.0 HOURS PER WEEK

CONTRACT LENGTH: 8 WEEKS (preferred start date is between June 5-12, 2023)

Office hours are 8:30AM - 4:30PM, Monday through Friday; with some evening and weekend required.

**Qualifications**:

- Relevant post-secondary education/courses in Health/Human Services _(ie: social work, nursing, psychology, etc)_
- Valid class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- High technical acuity and ability to learn and adapt to new technologies _(PAA utilizes Microsoft Office Suite incl Excel, Word, Sharepoint, and Teams)_
- Detail oriented, organized, and possess excellent time management skills
- Valid First Aid is considered an asset

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist Client Services Team with bi-annual touchbase calls to clients
- Assist Client Services Team with data management _(data entry, filing, scanning, etc)_
- Act as the lead on some active programming options _(including but not limited to Social Singing, Coffee Chats, online exercise programs, etc)_
- Attend in-person/online Support Groups and other programs as required
- Research/write new and re-format existing informational documents
- Work with Client Services Coordinator to develop plan for the annual Winter Social event _(including, but not limited to budget creation, venue options & securement, source and secure potential donors or sponsors of product/items required)_
- Coordinate and drop off information and resources to community stakeholders _(including, but not limited to Drs offices, health clinics, PCNs, etc)_
- Attend bi-monthly Client Services Team meetings and weekly staff meetings

**Requirements**:

- Ability to meet the requirement of the Canada Summer Jobs program _**(must be between 15-30 years of age)**_, and have Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Refugee status
- Must have current or be willing to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 8 weeks

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
