Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Complying with JELD-WEN EH&S requirements, legal requirements including policies, Work on PDCA’s related to product improvement
- Ensures Health and Safety of all employees
- Day to day management and optimization of shipping department including labor, truck fleet and third-party carriers.
- Manages delivery of product to customer job sites and warehouses
- Works closely with production and purchasing teams to ensure all product ships in timely manner to meet customer OTIF.
- Ensures zero defects to product from staging through to final on-site delivery.
- Manages and develops employees effectively within context of CBA.
- Manages ancillary warehouses as required for the business.
- Responsible for developing both manually and automated processes for loading and on-site delivery
- Accountable to manage cost of department within budget.
- Actively identifies opportunities to improve and executes improvement plans.
- Ensures all financial internal control requirements are met.
- Works closely with corporate team on selection and optimization of logistic contracts.
- Other tasks and duties as required

Qualifications:

- Post High School certification in Supply Chain, Logistics or related field. Minimum 5-7 years at manager level in Warehouse/ Supply/logistics/transportation role.
- Demonstrated ability to work in union environment
- Influencing skills to interact and liaise with both the local plant teams and corporate is essential.
- Driven change agent skillset
- Experience working with direct and indirect reports to achieve positive operational change.
- Proficient in MS Office Programs (Word, Excel) and adapt quickly to other support systems (ERP, data mining, optimizers).
- Experience in a manufacturing facility involving Continuous Improvement methodologies strongly desired.
- Outstanding interpersonal, written and communication skills; as this position will act as primary contact with carriers and/or trucking dispatchers and drivers, and maintain ongoing and new carrier relationships.
- Must be self-motivated, confident, positive and professional when dealing with both internal personnel and external customers/carriers.
- The ability to thrive in a constantly changing and complex environment and consistently meet tight timelines.
- Must possess fundamental product technical aptitude and knowledge, analytical skills, and be detail oriented.
- Must possess the ability to work well in a team environment as well as under mínimal supervision.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance related to the position.
