5 Ton Driver

Ladysmith, Canada ColdStar Solutions Full time

ColdStar is looking for a 5-ton driver to join our Cassidy Transport Team. In this position you’ll be driving around central Vancouver Island and delivering freight to local businesses, helping us serve the community and build relationships with our valued customers.

**Responsibilities**:

- General P&D activities such as safe driving, hand bombing, related paperwork, and customer service
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with Dispatch and Customers
- Report all incidents and safety hazards in a timely manner to the supervisor or Dispatch

**Qualifications**:

- 1-year experience driving a Five-Ton Truck
- Air brake certification
- A clean driver's abstract
- Experience driving a manual transmission required
- Experience using electric power jacks, electric tailgates, and forklifts an asset
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. repeatedly required
- Knowledge of reefer settings & food temperature hauling requirements, an asset
- Knowledge of local roads & highways, an asset

**Hours & Compensation**:

- Full-Time
- Monday - Friday
- 7am start time
- $23.50 / hour

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $23.50 per hour
