**Summer Subcontract Position - In-Home and 1:1 Community Respite Support Worker**
Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA)
**Job Description**:
Are you passionate about supporting children, youth, and young adults with intellectual or physical disabilities? We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our team as Summer Subcontract Respite Support Workers. This position involves providing in-home respite and 1:1 community support, tailored to meet the unique needs of each family.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-home respite care for children, youth, and young adults with disabilities.
- Offer 1:1 community support, facilitating engagement in recreational and social activities.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and their families.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of experience supporting individuals with special needs in Ontario.
- Degree, certificate, or diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child and Youth Worker (CYW), Personal Support Worker (PSW), or a related field.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certificate.
- Clear Police/Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Medical documentation may be necessary to support vulnerable populations as per ministry requirements.
- Must be reliable, flexible, and able to complete physical tasks required as per role duties.
Additional Requirements:
- Individuals are recommended to have liability insurance as private subcontractors.
- Must be available for flexible hours, which may vary between part-time and full-time depending on family needs.
Compensation:
- Starting pay rate: $21.50 per hour.
