**Location: North York**

**Position Summary**
We are looking for a Regulatory and Scientific Affairs Intern based at our North York location for the months of June to November 2024. This role at Nestlé Health Science will provide support to the Consumer Care and Medical Nutrition platforms on various regulatory and compliance projects specific to foods and foods for special dietary use. Responsibilities include assisting with government submissions, conducting claims assessments, and contributing to the development of new digital tools. This internship offers valuable experience in the field, allowing interns to gain practical knowledge and skills in regulatory affairs while working closely with experienced professionals.

**A day in the life of a Regulatory and Scientific Affairs Intern**
As a Regulatory and Scientific Affairs Intern you will be working on various projects within the RSA group and related functions:

- Contributing to the development of a new digital claims tool for the business
- Assisting with submissions to Health Canada related to temporary marketing authorizations (TMA’s)
- Compliance for both External Regulations and Internal Nestle Policies and Standards
- Claims assessments to ensure compliance to both Regulations and Nestle Internal Claims Standards
- Communication and advertising materials reviews to ensure compliance
- Evaluation and competitive assessment of new regulatory food categories (e.g., Supplemented Foods)

**You will also**:

- University degree in Science or related discipline. An advanced degree or post-graduate Diploma or Certificate from a Regulatory Affairs program are assets.
- Experience in regulatory affairs or the food and beverage industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with the Food and Drugs Act and Food and Drugs Regulations is preferred.
- Understanding of at least one of the regulatory related topics such as food safety, consumer information, nutrition & health, additives, or quality.
- A results and detail-oriented professional with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Exceptional organizational & efficiency skills - ability to organize work, multi-task, create detailed plans, monitor progress, follow-up and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and accuracy a must.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates initiative and is proactive; ability to work independently, anticipate needs and be forward-thinking. Assertive with the ability to adapt to change.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to learn about and work in new digital tools (e.g., Power BI) and survey programs (Microsoft Forms/Survey Monkey)
