CONTRACT POSITION AND ONSITE IN PORT HOPE

**Education**
- A degree or diploma from a college/university relevant to construction project management, civil, geotechnical, chemical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent.

**Experience and Skills Required**
- 8+ years progressively responsible project experience, preferably related to large construction and/or remediation projects.
- Supervising the work of contractors, consultant engineers, and vendors in field work and construction oversight.
- Requires experience with project management software, tools and practices used to plan, execute and control projects and a track record for leading large projects from definition, budgeting, design, through to construction.
- Experience with Remediation/construction Projects, Civil Projects, Construction Safety and the Nuclear industry are required.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, resourcing, contract management, and progress reporting for an executive audience.
- Applies all of the 9 project management knowledge areas (i.e., Scope; Cost; Time; QA; Communications; Human Resources; Risk; Procurement; Integration).
- Excellent team-building and consensus-reaching skills.
- Effective internal communication skills (oral and written) in order to clearly articulate ideas and obtain and incorporate feedback from others
- Ability to chairs meetings and deliver informative and interesting presentations to large and diverse groups
- Effective external communication skills with suppliers and contractors to ensure activities and deliverables meet project expectations.
- Collaborate with corporate regulatory, communications, and stakeholder relations to government officials, regulatory officers, customer representatives, partners and suppliers, industry peers, and the public

**Responsibilities**

**Project Delivery**
- Plan, organize, lead and control the integration of all work areas and disciplines within the project effectively.
- Implement project management tools, methods, and best practices to plan and manage projects in a way that aligns with the expectations of stakeholders and meets business needs.
- Ensure all designs and work plans incorporate safety, quality, health, and the environment.
- Robust managing change in scope, schedule, costs, and impact to stakeholders against the project baseline Identify project risks and barriers and the development of mitigation strategies.
- Report and regularly interface with the senior management and clients regarding project status updates and expectations.
- Balance and determine project priorities and the division of responsibilities.
- Execute the contract and procurement strategy. Understands contracts requiring substantial negotiation of terms and conditions, having many work packages, resources and interfaces to manage

**Regulatory**
- Functional knowledge of federal and provincial regulatory requirements related to nuclear and remediation.
- Understands and implements substantial safety and licensing requirements with many internal and external regulatory interactions

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract

**Salary**: From $75.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Overtime

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Port Hope, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- project experience related to construction/remediation: 8 years (preferred)
- Nuclear industry: 8 years (preferred)
