**ABOUT THE PROGRAM**:
The Upskilling for Data Analytics and Business Intelligence non-credit program is based on the former, award-winning Autism CanTech program. Our focus is on giving Autistic individuals the skills necessary to successfully enter the growing data industry.

Upskilling Data and Business Analysis is a 16-week, hands on program that includes both in-person learning and on-the-job work integrated learning. Participants acquire employment skills and develop workplace self-advocacy tools to ensure clear communication with their employer focused on equity, productivity, and accommodation. Participants will be supported in gradually entering the workforce through a work integrated learning experience.

The Communications and Career Development Instructor contributes to the success of the Upskilling program by delivering instruction and supporting development of employability skills, which includes the areas of business communication skills, teamwork & collaboration, digital productivity, professionalism, work-life balance, giving and receiving feedback, continuous learning, and professional development. These skills will prepare Autistic participants to make meaningful contributions to data teams in a variety of organizations. Our program’s purpose is to provide participants with the skills and tools to gain and maintain meaningful employment after program completion. This instructional assignment consists of approximately 20 hours a week and requires **in-person** delivery of courses at our downtown campus Monday-Friday. The program runs from **May 2024 - Dec 2024** with the possibility of extension.

**HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE**:
In collaboration with the program team, you will:

- Prepare and facilitate the delivery of classroom materials and other materials as required for online and in-person classrooms.
- Develop appropriate learning activities and teaching plans for each teaching assignment.
- Document participant attendance, participation, and academic progress and share this information with the career coaches to support work-experience placements.
- Answer participant questions and provide individual feedback as required.
- Manage the classroom and activities to provide an optimum learning environment for participants, including the maintenance of a predictable routine and environment that facilitates psychological safety.
- Work 1-on-1 with participants that need extra support.
- Provide direction and instruction to the part time Instructional Assistant to support class management and participant learning.
- Participate in program debriefing sessions(s), and provide recommendations related to course content, materials, participant preparedness, delivery format, etc.
- Collaborate with instructors at other delivery sites as needed to support coordinated national scope.
- Provide feedback on curriculum content.
- Identify areas for program improvement, especially for participant experience and workplace preparedness.

**WHAT YOU BRING**:

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Counselling, Social Sciences, Human Resources, Disability studies, etc. Graduate degree is an asset.
- Proficiency in digital tools and strong digital literacy skills required.
- Experience instructing in a post-secondary environment.
- Experience working with participants or clients with disabilities, particularly those who identify as Autistic.
- Ability to evaluate participant performance and conduct authentic assessments.
- Advanced skills in conflict resolution and problem solving.
- Culturally sensitive and have an ability to work with a diverse population.
- Independent and organized.
- Ability to work cooperatively as member of team to meet goals and objectives.
- Flexible and willing to assist project with emerging needs within scope.
- Patience and understanding when supporting participants.
- Professionalism and flexibility required when supporting participants.
- Experience with virtual instruction is an asset.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles, post-secondary pedagogy, and ability to teach technical theories to a diverse audience of learners.
